About Us
In Turkish culture, the idea of kismet, or ‘inescapable destiny’, is all
pervasive -- from a taxi ride to the greatest decision you will ever
make. Turkish Coffee Culture came about through just such a scenario,
when a teacher and writer from the U.S., Hardy Griffin, decided to
come to Istanbul and in so doing met the love of his life, Banu Özer.
Now they live on the Asian side of the city, with their son, Arda.
This is a long way of saying we're a family company, and we believe in
honesty and integrity above all else. That's why every price you see
on this website is all inclusive (no shipping and handling extras!), and
